Start360 is working with the Probation Board for Northern Ireland to change lives for Safer Communities. Start360 has received funding from the PBNI to assist its delivery of the Women’s Engage Service.
The Start360, Engage Women’s Service is an award winning Fresh Start initiative supporting women who have contact with justice system. The service provides community based support for those women experiencing pressure within their communities, domestic violence, trauma, substance use and emotional health concerns.
In partnership with PBNI we support 80 women annually, providing therapeutic trauma responsive one to one support, group work programmes and pathways to additional community support.
Chief Executive of the Probation Board for Northern Ireland Amanda Stewart said:
“PBNI works in partnership with a range of organisations across the community and voluntary sector and we are delighted to be in partnership with Start360 in order to assist us to reduce reoffending. PBNI is committed to working in every community in Northern Ireland. We are also committed to working in partnership. In 2023-24 we have allocated £1.2million in funding to community partner organisations to assist us in our work. Indeed, we believe that in order to rehabilitate and resettle those who have offended we must work collaboratively. This partnership will help us carry out our role of changing lives for safer communities.”
Start360 CEO, Danny McQuillan, has welcomed the funding provided by the Probation Board for Northern Ireland and said:
“We welcome this partnership with PBNI which is an organisation with its roots in every community in Northern Ireland. Through this partnership we will be doing our part with PBNI in changing lives for safer communities and we look forward to working together with probation into the future.”
