Forensic Mental Health and Neurodiversity Uncertainty Survey

Published date:

The Forensic Managed Care Network (FMCN) and Extern, in collaboration with Praxis, QUB, and Ulster University have been awarded funding by NIHR to carry out a Northern Ireland Research Priority setting exercise focused on ‘those who offend or are at risk of offending in NI who have mental health issues and/or learning disability’.  Today is the launch day for the survey on Forensic Mental Health and Neurodiversity Uncertainty and we would love to get your views!

The survey is live here from 7 – 30 April

We want staff, service users and their carers to complete the survey indicating what they would like to set as research priorities.  This process will set the direction of research and increase the chances of funding it.

Staff - You can complete the survey online using the link above

Service users - can fill in a printed form (information in the Guidance notes attached). If anyone needs copies of either the staff or service user survey version printed please let me know and I will get this organised.  Staff can complete the form with service users if that is easier.  The survey is voluntary, and it is anonymous, but it is important that service user input is included.  If you have a service user that you think might be interested in completing a survey, please, please ask them.  It will not take long and all responses are helpful.

To make accessing the survey versions and materials easier we have added the following to our webpage:

1) Easy read survey PDFs
2) Link to service user video explaining the survey;
3) QR code/link to the online version of the survey
You will find these in the ‘Why should I get involved’ and ‘How to get involved’ sections of our webpagehttps://www.impactresearchcentre.co.uk/research-projects/psp/ .
